Choir started this week, but if your student still wants to join, it is not too late! Choir meets every Wednesday morning at 8:30 - just have your student bring the completed permission form.
This week in music, 5th grade started recorder and 3rd grade started metallophones, xylophones, and marimba. If your student has not yet brought in a folder for music, please send one in next week - the worksheets are coming!

About Ms. Katie
- Ms. Katie
- I am the music teacher at John Stanford International School, and I am honored to be here! I know it will be a wonderful year in music. I believe each child has a talent for music in their own special way, and it is my job to help them discover their musical gift. In order to do this, the students will be taking part in a variety of music activities. These are designed to help each child develop musical skills and to know and appreciate many different types of music. Music from around the world is incorporated into every lesson. If you or your child has a song, instrument, dance, or other musical experience for the class, please come in and share with us! The musical activities we will be focusing on include: singing, playing instruments, creating music, listening to music, and moving to music. All of these activities are part of the National Standards for Music Education and are written into our school district's music curriculum. If you are interested in learning more about what your child is doing in music, I invite you to stop by the music room and join in.
